Coast to Coast, 2016
Over £10,000 raised!
Following the Phoenix Flooring team completing the Coast to Coast bike ride, in aid of St Gemma's Hospice, we are proud to announce we raised grand total of £10,500!
The challenge, which commenced on Friday 14th October and ended on Sunday 16th October, saw the hardy Phoenix Flooring team cover 216 miles, from Southport to Hornsea, through torrential weather conditions!
Jenny Dixon, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at St Gemma’s said: “We’re very grateful to Matt and Dan at Phoenix Flooring for taking on this gruelling challenge and for helping to raise so much money towards our patient care. It costs £25,000 each and every day to run all of the services provided completely free of charge to our patients and their families. We couldn’t do this without the support of the local community and businesses such as Phoenix Flooring.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us and St Gemma’s Hospice, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Supporting Great Causes
Sadly two very good friends lost their lives to cancer six months apart, leaving behind their four year old son. Both were cared for and supported by the wonderful staff at St Gemma’s. It is our aim to raise as much money as possible for St Gemma’s, to enable them to continue to provide a necessary service to families.
St Gemma’s Hospice provides care to people in Leeds who are living with cancer and other terminal illnesses. They give expert medical and emotional support to patients on their wards, in their Day Hospice and in people‘s own homes, 365 days of the year. Their Young Peoples’ Service and Bereavement Support Team ensure that patients’ families and carers are also supported, whenever they need it.
St Gemma’s provides care and support to over 3,000 local people each year and they are extremely proud to say that all of their services are provided completely free of charge for patients and families to access, but they are not free to provide. It costs £25,000 each and every day to run all of the Hospice’s services and they couldn’t achieve this without the support of the local community, thank you.
